The New England Patriots have undergone a number of roster changes this offseason. They have welcomed quite a lot of new players, some of which we are dying to see out on the field. For one, we are very excited to see how Devin Ross will fit in with the team’s offense going into the next season.
Ross is a 25-year old receiver who was a part of the Patriots’ practice squad last year. However, he has improved tremendously over the past year and is now expected to become one of the key receivers for the team. This week during practice, he showed everyone what he can do as he and Hoyer hooked up on several occasions on some amazing throws.
Head coach Bill Belichcik has took notice of this young receiver recently and praised him as he spoke to reporters earleir this week. He explained:
“Devin’s a hardworking kid. I think when we got him last year, I’m not sure that he was 100 percent healthy. He was healthy, but I think he’s gained — plus he’s had an offseason (in the Patriots’ system). Even though it’s not been supervised in the building, it’s still been supervised training.
“I think that he’s improved from this year to last year. We’ll see how things go here, but yeah, he looks like he’s ready to go and ready to compete, and we’ll see how that all comes together.”
Ross isn’t someone who is well known in the league, but he is expected to be all over the headlines this season. He entered the league as an undrafted agent for Tennessee but went on to sign with the Patriots the following year.
Now, Ross is expected to go up against Damiere Byrd, Jakobi Meyers, Gunner Olszewski, Thomas, Hastings, and Isaiah Zuber for one of the final few receiver spots.
