Signing Cam Newton To a One-Year Deal Reminds Us That The Patriots Dynasty Ain’t Dead Yet

This weekend, the New England Patriots made a shocking move to sign Cam Newton to a one-year deal. With this, the Patriots have reminded teams across the league that they are still the best even though they no longer have Tom Brady on the roster.

This signing changes a lot of things in the AFC East. After Brady left the Patriots, teams like the Jets and the Bills thought that they finally had the chance to take over the division but it seems like their plans will not work out after all. A healthy Cam Newton is going to bring a lot to the table in New England and he will help the Patriots capture their 12th straight AFC East title.

Over the past two seasons, Newton has really not been himself. The many injuries he suffered caused him to become a shell of himself before getting released by the team that once had such strong faith in him. Now, the Patriots will try to make the best out of their one-year deal with the quarterback.

Giants cornerback James Bradberry made it perfectly clear how he thinks Newton sees his future in the league following his dreadful injuried. He then said: “He’ll have a bigger chip on his shoulder than anybody in the league, I feel like. Everyone’s against him. I know he wants to prove all the doubters wrong.”

Belichick knows how to bring out the best of some of the players that really want to work. The same situation happened years ago when he decided to bring in Randy Moss. Following the receiver’s deal with the Patriots, he became one of the most famous players in the league. If all goes well, maybe the same will happen to Newton as well.

We can’t wait to see Newton on the field with his new team!
