Tom Brady is going to be a free agent for the first time in his career this offseason, finally giving teams aside from the Patriots a chance to pitch him. There have been many reports so far about where Brady could land and according to recent reports, a new mystery team has emerged.
Appearing on ESPN’s “Get Up” earlier this week, Jeremy Fowler spoke about the odds of Brady going to play in Tennessee. He also said that there is a new team on the block that will be seriously pursuing Brady:
“I just spoke with sources on this. I was told the Titans believe they have a pretty good chance in a head-to-head matchup with the Patriots to land Tom Brady. I’m also told that there’s a mystery team — a third team — that’s firmly in the mix, all right? So cue the music.”
Based on our calculation, there is only a few of the 32 NFL teams that could be the “mystery” team that’s after Brady. The list includes:
Then there’s also:
–Saskatchewan Rough Riders
–Winnipeg Blue Bombers
It’s very unlikely the Brady will sign with any of these teams. So far, the veteran quarterback has been linked to some team that really could be a landing spot for him: the Patriots, Titans, Chargers, Raiders, Buccaneers, and 49ers. The other NFL teams are either not expected to pursue Brady, or already have a quarterback under contract, or are not a good enough team to have someone like Brady playing for them.
We are yet to learn more about the mystery team. Whatever team it is, we believe it won’t be as good an option as the Patriots are. Brady is the face of the franchise, he should stick around for the rest of his career.
