There is no doubt that Tom Brady is the greatest football quarterback of all time. There will never be someone that will top what he’s done for his team and the league.
Brady is a six-time Super Bowl champion that has set more records than anyone can count. It’s been nineteen years since he won his first title and at the time, he was the youngest quarterback to ever win the Super Bowl and he was 24 at the time. In four of the six Super Bowls he won, Brady was also named Super Bowl MVP while also winning the NFL MVP on three separate occasions.
Throughout this entire NFL career, Brady has played only for the New England Patriots who drafted him with the 199th overall pick in the 2000 Draft. They have benefited from that decision ever since. But nowadays, the league is dominated by the younger, more mobile quarterbacks who can throw but also run. That kind of a quarterback is Patrick Mahomes from the Kansas City Chiefs who won this year’s Super Bowl. It turns out that he set a new record with his performance this season – he was the first quarterback ever to finish the season 5-0 when trailing by double-digits.
During a recent interview, Mahomes explained that it was Brady’s advice from last year that influenced the season he has this year. He said:
“The biggest thing he said was, ‘Stay with the process and be who you are.’ He didn’t want me to change at all. He wanted me to go out there and take advantage of every single day. When you hear it from a guy like that, who’s had the success at the level that he’s had for his entire career, you know you’ve got to take advantage of every single day if you want to be great.”
