Rumor: New England Patriots Needs to Lock up Trey Flowers Soon

The New England Patriots did not have the best season this year. There were times when people doubted the team’s ability to make it to the playoffs. At times, people thought that the team could no long be called the best team in the league. But they pulled off the best comeback in years, made it to the playoffs, made it to the Super Bowl and also won it. Now, the Patriots are six-time Super Bowl champions.

If there is one thing we know about the Patriots, it is that they will try and get another ring to the collection next season. In order to make that possible, the Patriots need to keep their best players on the roster. That means that the team needs to lock up Trey Flowers.

Flowers was one of the best defensive players in 2018. He finished the season with 7.5 sacks and also had 57 tackles, the most in the team. There is no doubt that he is a one-man wrecking crew, but now the defensive end is due for a major payday. Flowers is going into free agency this offseason. While he has the option of re-signing with the Patriots, he can always choose to go to another team.

According to recent reports, the Miami Dolphins will make an offer to get Flowers to the team. Their new head coach, Brian Flores, used to coach Flowers. When talking about him earlier in the season, Flores had only nice things to say for Flowers:

“I think you’d be hard-pressed to find somebody who works harder than Trey. On the field, in the weight room, in the training room, really across the board, this guy works incredibly hard. We call him the quiet storm. You don’t hear much from him, but he’s been a warrior for us and he’s played lights-out for us, really, since he’s gotten here. Everyone in the building respects him. He leads by example. Again, he doesn’t say much, but he works extremely hard, he works at his technique, he works at his craft every day and he makes a lot of plays for us. He’s a joy to coach and a joy to be around.”

We hope the Patriots get to keep Flowers on their team!
